attached to the Ministry of National
Chemical Industry) was founded in 1965.
Located in Xianyang city, Sha-anxi Province,
a historically and culturally fam-ous
city and the capital of the Qin Dynasty,
it is an enterprise specialized in the
developme-nt of rubber seals and special
purpose prod-ucts and is the most powerful
enterprise in d-eveloping, production
and inspection of rubb-er sealing products
in China. National Rubber SealingProducts
Standardization Center, National Special
Rubber Products Information Center and
National Rubber Sealing Products Quality
Supervision & Inspection Center
as well as National Rubber Sealing Products
Testing Laboratory are also subunits
of the In-stitute.

Rubber Research and Design Institute
of China United Rubber (Group) Corporation
(the former Shenyang Industrial Rubber
Products Research Institute of the Ministry
of Chemical Industry) was set up in
1958. It is a research and development
establishment of rubber products with
a combination of research, production,
and trade. It enjoys the honor of Torch
Type Research Institute of Shenyang.
The
Institute, formerly named R&D and
Design Institute Of Carbon Black Industry
Attached To The Ministry Of Chemical
Industry, is the sole R & D and
engineering design facility of carbon
black industry in China. It was approved
and recognized by the government as
the Carbon Black Technical Development
Center, Engineering Development Center,
National Carbon Black Quality Inspection
Center, Convening Unit For Carbon Black
Standardization, Engineering Design
Center and Carbon Black Technical &
Economical Information Center The Institute
owns staff of 600, about 250 of them
are technical personnel (engineer and
senior engineer 120) and several of
them are well-known in carbon black
industry.
